Dear Chiropractic Health & Wellness Center:

I’ve had acute low back pain problems for the last 12 years.  I’ve been to the emergency room several times where the doctors prescribed pain medication and sent me home waiting to get better.  The worst happened in August of 2006 whereI threw my back out while toweling off after a shower.  The pain was so severe thatI had to call for an ambulance to the hospital where I was admitted for a total of five days.  An MRI showed that I had multiple protruding discs in my lower back and again, all the doctors could do was prescribe pain meds and a walker.  I’m a professional wedding photographer and in this profession, there’s absolutely no room for back pain.

I decided to have a chiropractor’s opinion on my condition and my girlfriend referred me to Dr. Fargo.  Dr. Fargo put me on a rigorous program with a combination of regular adjustments, stim, the traction table, and home exercises.  I began seeing results almost immediately.  Within 4 weeks from seeing Dr. Fargo I was completely pain free– and felt better than before.  Not only did I feel great, but I was educated more about my back and how to prevent future relapses from occurring.  I haven’t experienced back pain since.  Thank You!

I would certainly recommend Chiropractic Health & Wellness Center to anyone who is interested in learning how to stay healthy, not just for immediate relief, but for the long haul.

 Sincerely,

 T.T.

Dear Chiropractic Health and Wellness Center:

My son has been struggling in school, seems depressed and has aggressive outbursts when things don’t go his way.  After several years of trying behavior modification processes that were not diet related I turned to Dr. Fargo for support.  The school recommended that Steven be evaluated by his physician for ADHD and were recommending medication before they could offer any kind of assistance.  After researching the side affects of ADHD medication we decided to try the natural approach first.  Dr. Fargo suggested that Steven may have food allergies which causes the negative behaviors.  We performed the allergy testing and found that Steven has food sensitivities to Sugar, MSG, Chocolate and Caffeine.  Most of which are found in a child’s diet.  Although we were apprehensive about making such dramatic changes to Steven’s diet it was well worth a try.  The week following the elimination of sugar in Steven’s diet we noticed significant improvement in his behavior, skin tone (no dark circles under the eyes) and ability to focus on simple tasks.  It is simply amazing what a change in diet can do for a child.  Although we would like to have Steven “sugar” free 100% of the time there are set backs around special events at school and birthday parties.  Steven is well aware of the challenges he is faced with when choosing sugar laden snacks and is beginning to make positive choices knowing that it is not fun being mean and angry as a result.

Thanks to Dr. Fargo and his staff for being so supportive during this change in our life.  We cannot thank him enough for the information and encouragement for making the right decision in the best interest of our child.

Dear Chiropractic Health and Wellness Center,

Since high school, I have suffered from headaches, neck aches, neck tension
and supposed sinus infections that caused pain in my face. I had been seeing
a General Practitioner and an ENT Doctor for the sinus infections and was then
diagnosed with migraines.

A friend of mine referred me toChiropractic Health & Wellness and after a
few short weeks I noticed results. I've since brought my two daughters in.
One whom was on Claritin every winter and didn't need it once this past winter.
My other daughter was experiencing headaches and migraine symptoms, which
went away after just a couple visits!

I would definitely recommend Chiropractic to others. It is a natural, holistic
approach that doesn't just medicate the symptoms, but treats the root cause...
and gets results!

Dear Chiropractic Health  and Wellness Center,

Nathan was diagnosed with colitis(inflamatory bowel disease) between 6 and 7 years ago.  I was told almost every visit that colitis is not food related when I brought up the fact that he was intolerant of dairy and chocolate and wondered about other foods.  The doctor didn't want to label him with ulcerative colitis saying it would be better for insurance purposes.  He called his disease inflamatory bowel disease.

When Nathan was seen by his specialist in August of 1999, he had only gained 5 pounds over a two year period of time.  Nathan had a scope (of his intestines) done because of this.  He was then put on steriods because he was doing poorly.  The colitis had been active for many months.  Once off the steroids, it only took a short time for the symptoms to return.  Nathan was seen in March 2000 after having been on steroids in January and February of 2000.  The specialist mentioned that he thought Nathan was becoming steroid dependent.  This was interesting because Nathan was not responding to the steroids and was being weaned off them.  The specialist recommended a newer drug called 6MP, which supposedly has fewer visual side affects.  Nathan liked the idea because he was made fun of when he "puffed" up while on the steroids.  I was told during this office visit that the next step was to remove his large intestine.

Nathan was weighed and measured to be in the 10th percentile in both categories for his age group during this office visit (March 16th, 2000).  Our first visit to your office was March 24th,2000.  It took only 3 days for Nathan to be normal in his bowel movements once off wheat and gluten.  All the symptoms of colitis disappeared immediately.  We kept our follow-up visit with the specialist June 8th, 2000 just to let him see Nathan and tell him of the great news.  Nathan was again weighed and measured.  This time he was in the 35th percentile for both categories.  He gained approximately 20 pounds and grew 2 inches in those 2 1/2 months.

Nathan's bowels were stripped of all normal bacteria by the time he was 2 years old by all the antibiotics he was on for ear infections.  At that time he became allergic to most penicillin products.  By August of 1999, he was allergic to all antibiotics.  I wonder at times if his wheat intolerance would have shown up, especially this drastically, until later in his life without the help of "modern medicine".

His counselor has noticed a big difference in his emotional state because he is no longer made fun of at school or daycare and he feels so much better.  What a change in a small boy's life.  He is looking forward to the day he can have a STUFFED CRUST PIZZA!

Recipe of the Week:

MARINATED BRUSSELS SPROUTS

Hands-on time: 20 minutes
Chill 4 hours before serving
Serves 8
• Generously salted water to cover
• 2 pounds Brussels sprouts, preferably fresh of about equal size (frozen sprouts also work)

• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 4 tablespoons vinegar
• 1 teaspoon soy sauce
• ½ teaspoon dry mustard
• ½ teaspoon salt & sugar
• ¼ teaspoon oregano & thyme
• Salt & pepper to taste
Bring water to a boil. If using fresh sprouts, trim stem ends, remove outer leaves and cut an X into core with tip of a knife (this promotes even cooking). Cook for 6 – 8 minutes until cooked but still bright green. Drain.
Mix remaining ingredients in a bowl. Add hot sprouts, stir several times. Chill for 4 hours before serving.
