Throughout the process of becoming a chiropractor, I have learned many things; the most important being to practice what I preach. I have a passion for making other people’s lives better, but I was simply ignoring my own. I believe that good nutrition is the number one component of vibrant health, and Ideal Protein allowed me to take control of my own health. It made a huge impact on my life. The program is actually easy! Once you make the commitment, don’t turn back, don’t cheat, don’t risk ruining your shot at changing your life. I know how hard it is to lose weight, I have struggled with it my entire life; but finding a reason to do it is all you need. Everyone can be healthier, more active, and feel better about themselves. Everyone has a reason to do it- your family, your kids, your career, and most importantly yourself! Making such a big life change is not easy, but it is definitely worth it. This program even saves you money- you learn to stop paying for things that are essentially killing you, and instead you are investing in yourself. "I am a twenty-something lady who has had the privilege of eating mostly whatever I wanted and not really gaining weight. I've never put that much thought into what I was eating and my meals were mostly based on convenience. I had never looked at a food label for nutritional value or ingredients. Vegetables were certainly never on my plate. Ever. I'm also a night shift nurse. Coming home from work and eating leftover Chipotle or a bunch of Fritos or nothing at all was common.
I decided to try IP after moving in with a friend who had great diet and exercise habits and realizing that it didn't seem that hard to do things the right way. I started exercising regularly first and realized a diet change was necessary to enhance my energy and feel good before, during and after workouts. I particularly liked IP because there's really no room for user error. Even having some nutrition as my background of nursing, I liked that phase 1 eliminated any chance of my own mistakes in food choices and I liked sticking to the schedule laid out for me. With the help of my coach, I was able to find a way to prepare a variety of vegetables that I actually liked eating! I didn't feel starved. My tastes and preferences changed and I started craving healthy choices that I would have never wanted before.
It's now several months later and I'm still on track. I enjoy my daily vegetables and if I happen to stray from the produce section, I am reading labels to make sure I know exactly what is in the food and how good it is for me. Even with 1 cheat day a week in phase 4, I've never once chosen Chipotle or Fritos. My body has been reset and feels so much better; usually rejecting anything that's not good for me. I've learned so incredibly much about myself, my body and food. I've learned how important it is to make the right choices now and prioritize healthy eating habits that will last me the rest of my life."

Here's Patti's Story:

Ideal Protein started out as a just another diet for me, and ended as a life changing journey. I thought that I might lose some weight and then lose interest, find it too difficult, or just simply find that it wouldn’t help me to physically heal and get my life back, but within 2 weeks, the metamorphous began, I saw hope for my physical condition for the first time.

I was always thin until I got pregnant and developed a thyroid condition in 1994. That started my physical downward spiral. Then, menopause happened and I certainly didn’t know what to expect - I’m young after all, 55. Who thinks they will ever have hot flashes and night sweats 24 hours a day? Certainly not me. I just knew that I was miserable. I felt like I was physically dying. I was desperate to find the solution that would make me feel good.

My story with Ideal Protein starts mid-April, 2012. I weighed 208 lbs. I had debilitating acid reflux round the clock. It was so bad, that I couldn’t lie down at night; my food would come back up burning in my throat. It was painful. I was experiencing unexplained rashes and constant itching that wouldn’t go away, even with medication from my internist. And, I had no answers. I even needed help getting up off the couch and it had come to the point that I couldn’t walk by a mirror and look in it from the neck down. It was a bad scenario.

Luckily, a friend told me that acid reflux was a symptom of a food allergy. Again I thought, not me. I never have trouble with food. Something was definitely wrong and I needed to rule that out. I remembered that Dr. Fargo is an expert in food allergy testing, so I made an appointment; $40.00, cheap enough right? Well, to my surprise within 1 hour, I found out that I was allergic to beef, coffee beans, gluten, and cauliflower; only 95% of my diet. Dr. Fargo suggested Ideal Protein. I started it that day and never looked back. In the 1st week, my acid reflux completely stopped. Then the rashes and itching went away. I consistently lost 3-4 lbs. each and every week dropping dress size after dress size. I still had hot flashes, so I went to Dr. Leach at Team Health Care in Champlain and he tested me and now has me on bio identical hormones for the menopause and a bio identical hormone for my thyroid. With Dr. Fargo’s help, he retested me to make sure that my body likes the hormones and vitamins that Dr. Leach prescribed for me. I am now almost totally free of hot flashes, I just get them sometimes early in the morning but am working with both Doctors to insure that I am doing everything I can.

In December I gave myself the best Christmas present, I reached my goal. In fact, to my surprise, I surpassed it. I was going to stop when I got into a size 10 but decided to go down 1 more size. When I thought I was a size 8, I discovered that I fit into a size 6! I went from a size 20W to a size 6 in 8 months! I never cheated, except for every once in a while I would have an extra Chocolate Raspberry Bar and not tell Stephanie, my Ideal Protein Coach, (smile). I stayed on the program, I did the program, and I got the results. And the only reason I agreed to doing this diet was because Dr. Chan told me in his video that once I lose all my weight, I get to eat whatever I want and learn what to do not to gain it back. I have been on maintenance now since December and I am still in a size 6. I eat what I want and enjoy it all.

My favorite part about losing all this weight is when people just say to me, “You are so tiny.” I still can’t believe it. But I can look in the mirror now and it is so fun to shop for clothes.

One thing about this program that really helped me was keeping my appointment with Stephanie every week. Even if I went out of town, she would call me to see how I was doing and if I had any challenges that she could help me though. I loved stepping on the scale in her office and watch the slider move to the left. She is always so positive, encouraging, compassionate, and professional. I looked forward to every visit and I actually miss our visits every week. Because I have the secret to keeping the weight off, I know that the foods I am allergic to, really cause me trouble, they make me feel sick. So, I avoid them and have come to enjoy bison, Good Earth Tea, and gluten free breads, crackers and pizza. I have to eat a bit differently, but I don’t feel awful after a meal, and for the first time in my life, I am satiated and really enjoying what I eat.

I feel so good now, and I can’t thank Dr. Fargo enough for saving my life.

The Ideal Protein Program chose me!

After spending several years adding a couple of pounds here and there, I had a severe bout of food poisoning following dinner at a classy restaurant and was ill for days. It was the wake- up call for me. Within a few days I received an email advertising Ideal Protein and it clicked in my head… this is IT.

Life is better now for a number of reasons. First, I always read labels and monitor my carb intake. Second, my eating habits continue to improve as I make healthy choices and influence others positively. I am hopeful that the results of my next physical exam will show that I no longer need several of the medications I currently take.

My coach was awesome and supportive always. She phoned me to see how I was doing and I knew I could call her with questions in between weigh days. It helped me watcher her follow the program as well.

There is more freedom with this diet than I imagined. I like the snacks and after the first four days, I did not feel hungry. I like the sharing of recipes as well. They add variety and creativity. The most special part was watching the inches fall away!!

I would tell them that this is different from all other diets and briefly explain what I know of the science behind it. It's easy to talk about giving your pancreas a break and why that's important. People get intrigued.

Doing the Ideal Protein diet changed my life!



I wanted to thank you for all you've done for me. Doing the Ideal Protein diet changed my life. Ok so how did a diet change my life exactly? Well of course it started with wanting to lose weight but more than that. I wasn't happy with where I was at in life, weight, not exercising, generally feeling like a slob surviving life, which doesn't make anyone feel good. I used to be someone who was very active, enjoyed working out and eating healthy, and then I graduated from college and started a much more sedentary lifestyle. It was a slow and steady change that I didn't even notice until all of a sudden I woke up and didn't like where I was at. When I decided to do the diet, I decided to go all in. I needed to change and this was going to be it. It was a financial commitment I was making to lose weight but it turned into so much more. As I started to eat better and seeing the results physically, it was just a matter of time before I started to go to the gym. At first going to the gym was hard by the more I went, the better I began to feel. Before this going to the gym felt like another chore but now it has become something I enjoy, something I plan into my day and look forward to. When I get done with a workout I feel stronger physically, emotionally and there isn't anything that can replicate this feeling. The Ideal Protein diet also made me realize I have so many choices in life that I never thought about. I can choose what I put into my body to give it energy and this is an empowering thing to realize. So thank you for giving me the opportunity to dig out of the rut I was in. I am now addicted to the lifestyle I have created for myself (with some help!) and I am really enjoying how good I feel about myself again. Also, a special thanks to Beth for the guidance and support, not going to lie there were rough days, but Beth's support was always just a text away.

PS- this change has also affected the people around me, it is funny we all know being negative is contagious, but positive changes can be as well!

IP knocked on my door and I answered…! As a sufferer of osteoarthritis with a significantly decreased activity lifestyle and the Dad of two beautiful children… Excess weight and pain were not on my tolerance list. With the steadfast and positive motivation from my IP coach, I lost nearly 40 pounds in 16 weeks. Through the IP process, what went in my mouth, more importantly, what did not go into my mouth, gave me my life back! My osteoarthritis pain is virtually non-existent along with other body pains that you don't even realize you lived with until their gone. I have learned to make the right decisions!

I have been a patient of Dr. Tim Fargo at Chiropractic Health & Wellness for many years. I have trusted his methods and judgments without hesitation. When he introduced the Ideal Protein progran in 2010, I was intrigued by it. In the winter of 2011, I noticed that my weight has increased dramatically. I was concerned about this and my overall health. After listening to the informational presentation about the program, I realized that this program contained the criteria necessary for success. I have been on other weight programs in the past, but none of them contained the long-term thought process and support and I always regained the weight.

I started the program in May of 2011. It was easy to understand and implement. The food items were enjoyable and did not affect me physically. Actually they left me with a better frame of mind. By July, I had lost my goal of 30 pounds and have kept all of it off. I am enjoying the regular food I now eat and fully understand that my weight is affected by decisions I make. I have learned to make the right decisions.

I fully recommend this program as a means of improving ones health.

I have been a client at Chiropractic Health and Wellness Center for many years. When I heard about the pounds I could lose in three months on the Ideal Protein Diet offered through the clinic, I did not believe it to be possible. I have tried other diets in the past with little to no success. Plus I hated having to eat nothing but the foods manufactured by the diet company.

I started the Ideal Protein Diet on Sept. 21, 2011. At that time I weighed 257 pounds. As of Feb. 6, 2012, I have lost 44 pounds. I now weigh 213. And the cool thing is, it hasn't been that difficult. I do eat 2 or 3 IDP products per day, but the program is flexible. I get 8 oz. of just about any meat I want, or fish or eggs, for dinner each night. The program does require a lot of veggies with lunch and dinner, but the type of veggies and how they are prepared is open to variation.

I was a "sugar hound" and was required to cut out refined sugar. But after a couple of months, I didn't crave it. I get a fair amount of fruit on this program, so I now get the good kind of sugar. And-this is huge-my doctor informed me a month ago that my Type II (mild) diabetes is now gone.

Many friends tell me that they do not even recognize me at my new weight, that I look 20 years younger. And in the past month I've had the kind of energy and enthusiasm for life that I have not known for 30 years. For 25 years I've kept "musician's hours" (stay up until 2 a.m. and sleep till noon). After about 4 months on the IDP program, I started getting up at 8 a.m. each morning, excited to get going on my day. I never would have believed this change. It's so great!

Starting a few days ago, I began a half-hour of aerobic exercise first thing each morning. Morning is fast becoming my favorite time of the day. I never even used to see mornings! Also, the IDP program does not require an impossible exercise routine to lose weight. I have a new lease on life and cannot recommend more enthusiastically the Ideal Protein Diet as a weight-loss program. Try it; you'll be amazed.

It has been 8 months since I started on the Ideal Protein Plan and so far have lost close to 70 lbs and 80.5 inches. I really didn’t think I could do it because I was never a big water drinker so I went into this a bit reluctantly. A week went by and much to my surprise it was actually very easy to stay on the program plus drink the required water. I embarked on this weight loss journey thinking the less I weigh, the better my back will feel. Although I can’t say there has been a dramatic difference to date, I am able to move much more easily then before and a nice benefit is that my energy level is way up. I am sure I will see much more improvement by the time I reach my goal weight . I would encourage anyone in the beginning of this Plan to stick with it, because it definitely is the best one around. A big thank you goes to Casey who truly cares about my progress and is often more excited than I am when the scale slides to the left!

I'm a 66 year old woman that didn't believe I could be so successful on the Ideal Protein Program. I have lost 36lbs in 17 weeks and it's been a program I could stay with. I'm a protein eater more than desserts! I have 2 nieces and 2 nephews that went on this program and when I saw their success, I decided to try one more time!

Each weigh-in showed a weight loss and was the motivation that kept me going. My coach told me there was a beginning and end-which sounded good to me also. I believe this is the last program I'll ever have to be on in my lifetime!

I knew I needed to take action once I had gained back most of the weight I had lost over 8 years ago under another well-respected program. As I researched the Ideal Protein protocol, it made sense to me- low fat/carbs, higher protein, eating well, resetting insulin production to minimize cravings and revisiting healthy eating habits. It wasn't based on "bizarre foods or eating practices," and offered weekly support for my efforts. I'm proud to say I've reached my goal of losing almost 30 pounds, in what I consider a relatively short period of time, with the assistance and support of Casey and Stephanie, my Ideal Protein support team. My cholesterol has lowered, the strain on my knees and ankles is lessened, my previous heartburn issues have disappeared- I feel healthier, happier, and more confident in my "new" body!
