At Chiropractic Health & Wellness our nutrition and weight loss coach will help you look at your overall nutrition with the aim of creating a state of sufficiency and purity in the food and supplements you use to build a healthy body. Taken together, these 4 factors constitute what is known as “metabolic syndrome”, or “syndrome X”. In the medical world scant attention is given to solving the underlying causes of metabolic syndrome. Instead, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high blood sugar are handled with medication, while the common denominator to all of these conditions is usually ignored.
Weight loss and nutrition counseling
The program we offer at Chiropractic Health & Wellness in Edina is called “Ideal Protein”. The Ideal Protein Weight Loss Method is an easy 4-phase medically designed and monitored protocol that helps stabilize blood sugar levels while burning fat and maintaining muscle and other lean tissue. The protocol was developed in France 30 years ago by Dr. Tran Tien Chanh, MD Ph.D. Dr. Tran focused his career and research on nutrition with a particular emphasis on the treatment of obesity and obesity-related issues.
The daily regimen on this program consists of consuming 3 or 4 Ideal Protein food servings, each of which contains 17 to 20 g of protein, in combination with 8 ounces of your own protein source, 4 cups of vegetables, 2 large salads, 65 to 70 ounces of water and a variety of vitamin supplements. There are at least 70 different Ideal Protein foods to choose from. These specialized foods are good tasting and the diet, though relatively low in calories, leaves a person feeling satisfied and full of energy. Because the diet is highly structured and easy to follow, patient compliance is very high and so is the success rate. The average woman on this program loses 2 ½ to 3 pounds of fat each week, without any loss of muscle mass. The average man (sorry to say, ladies) loses an average of 4 to 5 pounds of fat per week. In addition, the diet is anti-inflammatory and has significant impact on such conditions as acid reflux (G.E.R.D), joint pain and even polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
One-on-One Service
The Ideal Protein weight loss program and its products is only available through doctors’ offices. There are clinics (medical, osteopathic, chiropractic, etc.) all over America, and the world, delivering the Ideal Protein weight loss program. Our dedicated Health Professionals and Coaches offer each Dieter one-on-one personalized support and weekly follow-up. Every week you will meet with our Ideal Protein coach who will look at your weekly food log, weigh you, check your body composition, answer your questions and help guide, direct, and support you in your journey toward a slimmer and healthier you.
Once you have achieved your weight loss goal you will transition to phase 2 and phase 3 of the program during which you will slowly reintroduce more carbohydrates and fats into your daily diet. In a very short period of time you will be transitioned to phase 4, what we call “maintenance”. While on maintenance you may choose to use Ideal Protein foods, but you are certainly not required to do so. We recommend that while you are on maintenance, you meet regularly with our coach to make sure that you are continuing to make healthy nutrition and lifestyle choices. It has been our experience, over the many years of providing the Ideal Protein weight loss program in Edina, Minnesota, that patients usually achieve not only their weight loss goals, but also other life goals that may have eluded them for years. Many of our clients also are able to reduce or get off altogether the medications that were required prior to beginning the program.
