The daily regimen on this program consists of consuming 3 or 4 Ideal Protein food servings, each of which contains 17 to 20 g of protein, in combination with 8 ounces of your own protein source, 4 cups of vegetables, 2 large salads, 65 to 70 ounces of water and a variety of vitamin supplements. There are at least 70 different Ideal Protein foods to choose from. These specialized foods, though relatively low in calories, leaves a person feeling satiated. Because the diet is highly structured and easy to follow, patient compliance is very high and so is the success rate. The average woman on this program loses 2.5 to 3 pounds of fat each week, without any loss of muscle mass. The average man loses an average of 4 to 5 pounds of fat per week.
